We are rapidly approaching the highlight of our WIN year, Grant Season! With the support of so many generous women, we have raised just over $100,000 in our first five years. Of those funds, we’ve been able to give back approximately $80,000 in grants to organizations that support women and children in Starved Rock Country.
We’ve also established an endowment that will continue to grow and support our organization. If you’ve already sent your WIN membership dues, THANK YOU! For those of you who would like to continue your support or become a member, this is a gentle reminder the due date is just over four weeks away, Wednesday, August 31st.
If you are new to WIN, we are a women’s giving circle, and our collective giving is focused on making the biggest impact possible on local organizations that benefit women and children. The first financial goal for WIN, established when WIN was organized in 2016, was to find 150 women who would commit to an annual $200.00 donation (or $16.67 per month). Think of the impact $30,000.00 could have on a local organization working to benefit the lives of the women and children in our communities who need a hand up.
We are very proud to have women involved in WIN who come from many different backgrounds and socio-economic levels. Yearly membership levels begin at $200.00 per year. Gifting $500.00, at the Emerald Level, means you’re going green for our goal, and gifting $1,000.00, at the Diamond Level, means you truly rock! We love our Friends of WIN, too! You’re a Friend after donating any amount under $200.00. Only members are allowed to vote in the grant award process.
